One could define this intimate Italian spot as a New York restaurant unicorn. Authentic, made to order Sicilian food AND inexpensive. Ingredients are fresh and you can even watch from your seat as your food is being prepared in the kitchen. Your pasta will quite literally come out in the pan. The restaurant is very very tiny, and it can get a bit loud, but the experience and the food make it all well worth it. At lunch time, all of their pastas are $10, and on weekend nights (around 9pm) your Italian waiter will be dancing with you in the little to no space there is in the restaurant. A perfect prelude to a night out in New York. Dinner reservations are highly recommended. Location: Soho
Read MoreThere is a good chance you have seen a photo from Two Hands on Instagram. Similar to my experience with Butcher’s Daughter, I went to Two Hands after seeing a photo of their avocado toast. Also, similarly to my opinion of Butcher’s Daughter, Two Hands most definitely lives up, if not exceeds, the social media hype. Just a quick visit to their Instagram page will have you planning your visit to this cute little café. The avocado toast is definitely great, but I recommend the Brassicas Bowl. And definitely have your phone ready, because phone eats first at this joint. Locations: Nolita, Tribeca, Williamsburg
Read MoreFood here is served all day and all night (until 2am). They don’t take reservations and there will most likely be a wait, but it is definitely worth it. The atmosphere is charming and quaint; a little slice of Paris in New York. I highly recommend the Jambon Cru, creamy scrambled eggs piled high with prosciutto, and freshly grated parmesan cheese, on two slices of crispy toast. And, if you’re willing to splurge on an $8 glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, I highly recommend. Location: West Village
Read MoreI put this under the breakfast and lunch section because I have mainly been here for brunch, but their dinner menu definitely deserves an honorable mention. Their cacio e pepe is one of the best I have ever had. Their espresso bar and pastries are equally as delicious. You truly can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. The white tablecloths, chic atmosphere, and Italian ambience might even make you forget for a second that you are in New York. Locations: UES, Soho, and West Village
Read MoreI first went to this quaint little café in the West Village after I saw a photo of its adorable interior on Instagram. Will it live up to the social media hype? I questioned as I sat down at one of the tables…Well, it is on my list, so yes, it did in fact live up to the hype. From mimosas with fresh pressed juices to golden elixir lattes to smashed avocado toast…wait for it…benedicts, you will be in healthy foodie heaven. Locations: Nolita, West Village, and Williamsburg
Read MoreGreat sandwiches here, even better bread. This little sandwich shop is right near town, tucked away off of Cliff Rd. You can order your sandwich to go and head to the beach or you can eat it on one of the picnic tables outside. The Portuguese bread is PHENOMENAL, get a loaf to go because you will be wanting a slice of it every day. Also, you order either a half or whole sandwich, but a half sandwich is LARGE. A whole sandwich can be split by two people or saved for a second meal.
Read MoreThere are a lot of reasons why you should get a sandwich at this quaint little spot in town, starting with their fresh ingredients, great wine selection, and ending with their incredible service. The guys that work here are so friendly and always have smiles on their faces. Order a sandwich or salad from the menu or build your own, either will turn out delicious.
Read MoreHealthy breakfast and lunch spot located near the rotary. There are a couple tables to sit down but it’s mainly takeout. This is the perfect place to stop at before you go to the beach. You can build your own burritos and salads. I love the plant eater sandwich, but always check out the daily specials, they usually are LIT.
Read MoreIf I could afford to eat here every day for breakfast and lunch I would. It is right in town on Main St. When I lived on Nantucket for three months I was probably there five times a week spending money I didn’t have. Their Matcha gusto latte is fabulous and I highly recommend. They have fresh pressed juices, smoothies, salads, wraps, and sandwiches. Great choice for vegans, gluten free people, and meat eaters alike.
Read MoreYou will probably have to put your name on a list to get a table here. And if you sit inside, it will be very hot because of the grill, but I love this place for a good old diner style breakfast. It is right in town, so go early to get a table, or put your name on the list and walk around and shop while you wait. Cash only.
Read MoreThis was my family’s all-time favorite brunch spot when they visited me. When I went to Bare Naked Bowls next door, they sat outside at this café. I do have to admit, it was incredible, and in between bites of my acai bowl, I would try all of their dishes, and that is why it has earned a spot of my eating guide. I recommend the oatmeal or the poached eggs, both are simple, but both are very delicious.

Read MoreWhen my parents rented a house in Bronte, I visited this spot once a day. Their acai bowls are incredible but they don’t just stop there. They have salad bowls, smoothies, smoothie bowls, yogurt bowls, loaded toasts, “healthy” pastries, superfood lattes, coffee, and tea. There is not a lot of seating inside or out, so grab a bowl and head to the beach or walk the coastal walk!
Locations: Bronte and Manly
Read MoreAustralia is known for their beautiful and extravagant breakfasts and brunches, but not everything tastes as lovely as it looks. This café is more aesthetically pleasing than cozy but the menu is impressive. The Blue Majik smoothie bowl changed my life in more ways than one. It is beautiful, it is delicious, and it has edible flowers. My friend was equally emotionally moved by her coconut rice pudding. This place is pretty eating at its finest.

Read MoreIf you were to Google best brunch places in Sydney, Bondi Wholefoods would probably be on nine out of ten websites. This place tastes as good as it looks, which is fantastic because it is also healthy. The little market attached to it has some great superfood items and healthy products you can’t really find at a typical grocery store in Sydney. The location in Bondi is usually very crowded but they turn over tables fairly quickly so it’s definitely worth the wait. I recommend the superfood bowl or the breakfast bowl with coconut yogurt, coconut and date oat bircher, and fresh fruit…my mouth is watering just thinking about this place!
Locations: Bondi and Surry Hills
